Paris Region welcomes international companies to take advantage of novel business opportunities in urban mobility
Paris Region’s demand for ever-advancing urban mobility options has brought about remarkable business opportunities for international investors in the autonomous vehicle and electric vehicle market segments, and also in emerging and future modes of transport.
The urban mobility market in Paris Region is undergoing a complete transformation. Disruptive and open to innovation, there are many openings for companies already in place in Paris Region, as well as for foreign companies wishing to expand abroad.
There is significant public backing for these developments: the Regional Council of Paris Region sees urban mobility as an economic, environmental and social priority. The Council’s desire to reduce air and noise pollution and improve quality of life in all areas (health, reducing commute times, housing, etc.) requires new development projects that are perfect for innovative national and international companies alike.
To lay out the welcome mat for international investors and connect them to the Region’s best research labs and large French companies, Paris Region Entreprises has created a unique program called "INNOVATIVE URBAN MOBILITY IN PARIS REGION.” The event series was established in partnership with four major international conferences that will invigorate the Paris Region ecosystem from the end of September until the end of November 2018.
The four conferences are « Drones Paris Region » (27-30 september), « Mondial.Tech » (2-6 october), « Autonomy » (18-20 october), and finally the « Imagine Mobility Meeting » organized by the Mov'eo Cluster (19-20 november).
Paris Region is furthering its commitment to the cutting-edge urban mobility sector by sending Alexandra Dublanche, Paris Region’s Vice President of Economic Development, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, to Los Angeles in November to take part in LA CoMotion (15-17 November), an event where leaders in the transport and connected mobility industries gather from around the world.
27-30 SEPTEMBER: DRONES PARIS REGION
FROM SECURITY TO BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, THE MANY USES FOR DRONES OFFER A MULTITUDE OF EXCELLENT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Paris Region is the number one aeronautical region in France, and has many assets for the development of the drone sector.
2-6 OCTOBER: MONDIAL.TECH
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND IN THE AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE SECTOR IN PARIS REGION
Adoption of autonomous vehicles can revolutionize transport options and impact the evolution of society. Beyond the technological hype, a lot of R&D has yet to be done to warrant widespread use. Fortunately the Paris Region ecosystem (R&D, SMEs, start-ups, etc.) has been working for many years on the technology (sensors, AI, etc.) and public authorities strongly support the deployment of autonomous mobility, particularly in Paris Region.
18-20 OCTOBER: AUTONOMY
URBAN MOBILITY IN PARIS REGION GENERATES BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Paris Region is a European leader in urban mobility thanks to the Transport Plan that the Regional Council launched in 2016. € 24bn will be invested by 2025 to renovate and renew equipment (subway cars, trains, buses), develop public transport lines, build new stations, create parking spaces, and improve accessibility and safety. The plan will also promote new uses and new mobility with a cycling plan (with electric bicycles and scooters), river transportation, autonomous shuttles, carpooling, etc.
20 NOVEMBER: IMAGINE MOBILITY MEETINGS
ELECTRIC VEHICLES OFFER A MYRIAD OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
In order to fight against air pollution related to combustion engine vehicles, Paris Region strongly supports replacing vehicles in circulation with electric ones. Paris Region Mobilités and the RATP are currently transitioning the entire fleet of internal combustion buses to electric and natural gas buses throughout the Paris Region. This evolution is unique in Europe and it represents a thriving market for investors around the world, especially regarding the development of charging infrastructure.
