The Grand Paris Express is reshaping the region with new hubs

"The Grand Paris Express is much more than a transportation project: it is reshaping Paris Region by strengthening its competitiveness and increasing investment opportunities." said Alexandra Dublanche, Chairwoman of Choose Paris Region and Vice-President of Paris Region in charge of Economic Development, Innovation and Attractiveness..

With 124 miles of new automatic metro lines, 68 stations and an investment of 36.1 billion euros, the Grand Paris Express is the largest urban project in Europe. It paves the way for regional renewal with:

  • 3,200 hectares of development potential,
  • 54 square miles of neighborhoods undergoing transformation,
  • 100 hectares of real estate projects around stations, including 8,000 homes, 462,848 sq. ft. of retail space, and 4,090,286 sq. ft. of office and industrial space.

This revolutionary network stimulates the creation of R&D clusters, economic hubs and sustainable neighborhoods, thereby accelerating Paris Region's appeal to international investors.

Urban logistics: a strategic investment opportunity

Faced with the rise of e-commerce and new environmental regulations, Paris Region is becoming a laboratory for sustainable urban logistics. Innovative projects are emerging, combining smart and green infrastructure:

  • Logistics workshop: conversion of parking lots under the Champs-Élysées into connected logistics hubs (Swiss Life)
  • Sogaris: opening of a logistics warehouse at the Port d'Austerlitz in 2026,
  • Corsalis & Indigo: conversion of a parking lot in Bercy into a logistics platform,
  • Segro France: creation of a 807,293 sq. ft. logistics hotel under the Olympiades slab (delivery in 2025).

These structural investments promote optimized, carbon-free distribution, in line with the challenges of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). Alexandra Dublanche highlighted the role of these innovations in making Paris Region a benchmark for sustainable urban logistics.

Sustainable construction: Paris Region asserts its leadership

Paris Region is a pioneer in low-carbon construction with ambitious projects that have been awarded the BBCA label:

  • Saint-Vincent-de-Paul (Paris 14th arrondissement): reuse of existing buildings and bio-based materials,
  • Python-Duvernois (Paris 20th arrondissement): participatory and eco-friendly neighborhood,
  • Seine Parisii (Cormeilles-en-Parisis): green logistics and river transportation,
  • Hauts de Nesles urban development zone (Champs-sur-Marne): geothermal energy, optimized water management, and soft mobility.

With bio-based and geo-based materials used in 70% of new buildings, Paris Region is accelerating its transition to sustainable and resilient urban planning.
