The Paris Air Show (SIAE) in Le Bourget, which took place from June 16 to 22, 2025, has just come to a close. This year's event was marked by innovation, ecological transition, and the exceptional vitality of Paris Region's aerospace industry.
The SIAE, a historic and world-renowned trade show
The 55th edition of SIAE brought together 2,500 exhibitors from 48 countries, including 300 start-ups representing 21 nations. A true showcase for aerospace excellence, the event provided a unique platform for networking, flight demonstrations, and conferences, attracting major corporations, innovative SMEs, and start-ups in the sector.
Paris Region confirms its leading role in this export sector
Under the banner “Paris Region,” over a hundred companies from Paris Region showcased their expertise, showing how Paris Region is powering the French and European aerospace industry. This rich and competitive entrepreneurial fabric includes both established companies (Dassault, Safran, Thales) and new stakeholders who are at the forefront of innovation. The aerospace industry represents 1,800 companies in the region and nearly 200,000 jobs.

Historic agreement: Paris Region and the Ministry of the Armed Forces team up for strategic autonomy
The second day of the #Bourget Air Show was marked by a highlight: the signing of the agreement between Paris Region and the Ministry of the Armed Forces with Valérie Pécresse and the Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu.

The goal: to make Paris Region a pillar of French and European strategic autonomy. Defense is a sector of excellence for our region:
- Over 5,000 companies in the sector
- 67,000 high value-added industrial jobs
- Leading companies such as Airbus, Dassault Aviation, Thales, MBDA, Safran, KNDS France, Arquus
The entire technological backbone of our armed forces is here, on our campuses, in our laboratories and in our factories in Paris Region. Thanks to our proactive strategy to make Paris Region the hub for disruptive technologies and our tools (PM'up, Innov'up, Paris Region Reindustrialization Fund), we have mobilized nearly 100 million euros over three years, in partnership with the Ministry.
Le Bourget, a unique location that “offers great prospects and excellent visibility”
This year, the show welcomed 141,000 trade visitors, 38% of whom were international. The event "once again demonstrated its ability to bring together the global aerospace industry and promote exchanges between manufacturers, institutions, and international partners", noted GIFAS.
For companies such as Mecalectro (Massy), already a European leader in electromagnetic components, attending the Paris Air Show is strategic: "It allows us to meet our customers, but also to find new partners, which is essential for us!" explained Maxime Roose, sales engineer.
AMC Aviation (Thiais), which specializes in maintenance and monitoring for airlines, took advantage of the show to raise its profile and present its new products to an international clientele: "The Paris Air Show offers great prospects and excellent visibility because it is the world's largest aerospace trade show,» said Michel Montezume, founder of AMC Aviation.
Paris Region innovation was at the heart of the show, with a focus on startups made in Paris Region
The Region highlighted four particularly innovative start-ups, which are receiving financial support and assistance with their development:
- AndroMach: paving the way for suborbital and space flights with the ENVOL aircraft.
- ION-X: develops ion beam thrusters for small satellites.
- Prométhée Earth Intelligence: France's first Newspace operator of Earth observation nanosatellite constellations.
- Sirius Space Services: designs small space launchers for rapid and accurate orbit insertion, with regional support of 3 million euros.
Highly anticipated launch of the AI Challenge by Paris Region
One of the highlights of this edition was the launch of the AI Challenge by Paris Region, in partnership with CNES. With a budget of one million euros, this project aims to revolutionize the use of satellite data through artificial intelligence. It is aimed at space stakeholders who want to offer innovative solutions for analyzing and using data from space. The call for applications will open in the second half of 2025.
The largest aerospace hub: International demonstrations and meetings
The show was marked by spectacular flight demonstrations, round table discussions, and meetings with international delegations (India, Mexico, Bavaria, Florida, California, Washington). California, in particular, was honored as a land of innovation in NewSpace and emerging technologies, with the presence of giants such as SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, as well as numerous promising start-ups.
Commitment to decarbonization by 2050 and industrial excellence

The ecological transition and operational excellence were at the heart of discussions, with a round table dedicated to the challenges of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) bringing together major stakeholders such as TotalEnergies, Air France-KLM, and Safran. The Aero Excellence™ reference framework, presented by GIFAS, aims to speed up the industrial maturity of suppliers who are dealing with the ramp-up of aerospace production.
Sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) are expected to contribute to more than 50% of the industry's decarbonization efforts by 2050. Paris Region is determined to lead this strategic transition by leveraging its strengths:
- Europe's largest airport hub (CDG, Orly, Le Bourget - over 100 million passengers per year)
- 70% of France's kerosene consumption
- A bold commitment to accelerate the energy transition.
A trade show open to the general public
From June 20 to 22, the SIAE opened its doors to the general public, offering privileged access to the Air and Space Museum, a partner for the event. This opening allowed visitors to learn more about the challenges facing the aerospace industry, while inspiring some of the youngest visitors to pursue careers in this field. It welcomed 160,000 visitors.
Outlook and review ahead of the next edition in 2027
The Bourget 2025 SIAE confirms the exceptional momentum of the Paris Region aerospace industry and its leading role in Europe. The strong mobilization of companies, the emphasis on innovation, the ecological transition and international cooperation point to a promising future for the regional and national ecosystem.
The show allowed for new partnerships to be forged, ambitious collaborative projects to be launched, particularly in artificial intelligence and decarbonization, and raised the profile of Paris Region stakeholders on the global stage. We look forward to seeing you in 2027 for a new edition that is already shaping up to be a highlight of the global aerospace industry.
