Tandem Health, a Swedish healthtech company, is transforming clinical practice through an intelligent medical assistant that serves as a true co‑pilot for clinicians. By listening to the consultation, transcribing it in real time, and generating a medical note that can be seamlessly integrated into the patient's record, the solution significantly reduces administrative workload. Fully compliant with GDPR and local data‑protection standards, Tandem Health empowers healthcare professionals to regain valuable clinical time and focus on delivering high‑quality care to their patients.
Now established in the Paris Region, Tandem Health is expanding at the heart of one of Europe’s most dynamic ecosystems for healthcare innovation and artificial intelligence. Working alongside leading institutions such as Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild and Hôpital Foch, the company is accelerating the deployment of next‑generation clinical tools and laying the foundations for long‑term European growth.
In this exclusive interview, Félix Motosso, Managing Director France at Tandem Health, shares the company’s vision, the transformative role of AI in modern clinical workflows, and why the Paris Region offers a strategic environment for their expansion.
To begin, could you briefly introduce Tandem Health and your role within the organization?
Tandem Health is a European company developing an AI‑powered medical assistant designed to act as a true co‑pilot for healthcare professionals. Our solution automates clinical documentation, generates consultation summaries, and simplifies administrative tasks related to patient records.
The goal is simple: give clinicians the ability to spend less time on paperwork and spend more time with their patients. Today, our technology is used by more than a thousand healthcare institutions across Europe.
As Managing Director in France, my role is to develop Tandem Health’s presence in the French market, collaborate with partner hospitals and clinics, and support the adoption of AI within clinical practice.
How is your AI assistant transforming the daily work of healthcare professionals?
A significant share of medical time is spent on administrative tasks: writing consultation notes, updating patient files, or coding procedures. In some cases, this accounts for nearly one‑third of a physician’s working time.
Our AI assistant automates much of this workload. During a consultation, it can transcribe the exchange between physician and patient, automatically generate a structured clinical note, and suggest coding or documentation elements.
In practice, this dramatically reduces the time clinicians spend on documentation. In some deployments, healthcare professionals recover up to two hours per day, which they can reinvest in patient care.
Our vision is very clear: AI does not replace physicians, it supports them by giving back what they lack most today: clinical time.
Do you also collaborate with Paris-Region based hospitals and clinics?
Yes, we have launched several collaborations with healthcare institutions in France. These partnerships are essential to tailoring our technology to real‑world clinical workflows and to the specific requirements of the French healthcare system.
For instance, Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild in Paris has integrated our AI assistant in several departments to experiment with automated clinical documentation and enhance the time dedicated to patient interaction.
We are also currently deploying our solution across the entire Hôpital Foch, and we are finalizing agreements with several public hospitals, which we will announce soon.
These early deployments allow us to work closely with clinical teams, refine use cases, validate the impact on care quality, and build solutions that truly address healthcare professionals’ needs.
What made the Paris Region the obvious strategic hub for Tandem Health’s expansion in Europe?
The Paris Region is one of Europe’s leading hubs for healthcare innovation and artificial intelligence. It brings together an exceptional ecosystem of hospitals, startups, research institutes, and public stakeholders dedicated to transforming healthcare.
For a company like Tandem Health, which develops AI solutions embedded directly in clinical workflows, this is an incredibly stimulating environment. It enables us to collaborate with top‑tier medical institutions, as well as with key technological and regulatory actors.
Establishing our operations here aligns perfectly with our ambition to build a European clinical platform capable of supporting the needs of diverse healthcare systems across the continent.
What makes France a particularly strategic and timely market for the adoption of AI-driven healthcare solutions?
The French healthcare system is renowned for its quality, but it also faces significant challenges: expanding medical deserts, increasing administrative burden, and growing pressure on clinicians.
These realities make France a strong market for technologies that improve workflow efficiency. A considerable portion of physicians’ time is still dedicated to non‑medical tasks.
AI has the potential to reduce this burden and enhance care coordination, while fully meeting the high standards of security and data protection required in France.
You are a member of different initiatives in the Paris Region, such as Future4Care and Medicen. How do these organizations support you on a daily basis?
These organizations play a key role within the health innovation ecosystem. They create bridges between startups, hospitals, researchers, and industry leaders.
For a company like ours, they offer valuable opportunities for collaboration, clinical experimentation, and dialogue with healthcare stakeholders. They also help us better understand regulatory expectations and the realities of clinical practice in France.
Are you planning to recruit specific profiles in the Paris Region?
Yes. France is one of our priority markets for the coming years, and our rapid expansion across Europe is driving the growth of our local teams.
We are particularly looking for talent to support our expansion in the French market, including commercial profiles with healthcare experience, and clinical professionals to support our product development and deployment projects.
How did Choose Paris Region support you in your expansion journey in the region?
Choose Paris Region played an important role in our local expansion. Their team supported us on several fronts: understanding the ecosystem, connecting us with institutional and industry partners, and assisting with practical aspects of our establishment.
This type of support is especially valuable for an international company looking to enter a new market quickly and build a solid local network.
What are the next steps for Tandem Health in France?
Our priority is to continue deploying our technology across French healthcare institutions and to support clinicians in adopting these new tools.
We are also expanding the capabilities of our platform. Today, automated documentation is only the first layer.
Our medical coding assistance module was recently certified as a Class 2a medical device, a first for the industry, and we are developing solutions for care coordination and other key steps of the clinical workflow.
Our ambition is to build a comprehensive AI‑powered clinical platform that can support healthcare professionals at every stage of the patient journey.
Based on your experience, what advice would you give to companies considering expanding into the Paris Region?
The Paris Region offers an exceptional environment for technology companies, particularly in the healthcare sector. My main advice would be to integrate rapidly into the local ecosystem: meet healthcare institutions, innovation clusters, researchers, and public stakeholders.
It is a demanding but incredibly dynamic market. For companies ready to collaborate closely with the healthcare system, it offers significant opportunities to develop and deploy innovation at scale.
